Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 10: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, Jammu, held a special exam to invite students from Class VI to IX to participate in the Philatelic Scholarship Scheme under the "Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojna" for the year 2024-25. The exam, organized by the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communication, Government of India, aimed at promoting philately (the study and collection of postage stamps) among young students.
The objective of this initiative is to cultivate interest in philately at an early age, fostering a hobby that not only supplements academic learning but also provides a constructive and stress-relieving activity for students. The scheme encourages students to explore history, geography, and culture through stamps, helping them broaden their knowledge while enjoying the process of collecting.
After the successful completion of the exam, students were provided with refreshments. The Principal of the school, Sh. Rameshwar Mengi, appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to actively participate in such educational and co-curricular activities in the future.
