Early Times Report
KATHUA, Sept 10: As part of ongoing efforts to engage every voter, a series of impactful activities were held at the Govindsar polling station, Main Market Railway Station Govindsar in AC 67-Kathua (SC). This location had recorded low voter turnout in the recent Lok Sabha elections, prompting renewed efforts to raise awareness and drive voter participation.
One of the key highlights of the event was a powerful Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by the students of Government Higher Secondary School Keerian. The play emphasized the crucial role voters play in strengthening democracy and urged citizens to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections on 1st October 2024.
On the direction of the School Principal, Sanjeev Kumar Vaid, the play resonated strongly with the audience, leaving a lasting impact. The students also attended and contributed to the event's overall success.
Following the performance, participants took a voter pledge, reaffirming their commitment to encouraging maximum voter turnout and reinforcing the democratic process.
The event was organized by the team from the BDO Office Kathua under the supervision of Block Development Officer, Kathua Sakriti Koul held in presence of AC SVEEP Nodal Officer 67-Kathua (SC) Jatinder Sethi. As part of the initiative, T-shirts and refreshments were distributed to the participants.
These activities form part of the broader District SVEEP plan, which is spearheaded by the District Election Office. The campaign, designed and executed by the District Election Office, is led by the Returning Officer for AC 67-Kathua (SC), Vishav Partap Singh (ACR), who ensures a coordinated and strategic approach to enhancing voter awareness and participation.
