MP Gulam Ali Khatana blasts NC-Congress for 75 years of tribal neglect, hails Modi's reforms
9/13/2024 9:59:10 PM
Early Times Report
INDERWAL, Sept 13: Addressing a series of public meetings for the party candidate from the Inderwal assembly constituency, senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament, Er Gulam Ali Khatana, launched a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC) and Congress, alliance accusing them of marginalizing the tribal communities for over 75 years.
Speaking to large gatherings in Chatroo, Mughal Maidan, and Inderwal accompanying Union Minister, Dr Jatindera Singh, Khatana praised the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that they had transformed the socio-economic landscape for India's tribals.
Khatana minced no words in his criticism of the NC and Congress, accusing them of years of neglect and mismanagement. "For seven decades, the NC-Congress coalition ruled Jammu & Kashmir with dynastic interests at heart, exploiting the Tribals, keeping them in the shadows, and denying them the rights they deserved," Khatana said. He noted that the tribal communities had been kept at the margins of society, with little to no opportunity for development or a better standard of living. "It is only now, under the Modi government's visionary policies, that the Tribals are seeing a brighter future," he added.
The MP highlighted how the NC-Congress duo deliberately ignored the plights of the tribal communities, failing to provide basic facilities such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. "For decades, they have kept the Tribals in the dark, manipulating their vulnerabilities for electoral gains. The NC-Congress dynasts benefited from the ignorance they perpetuated among the marginalized sections, who were left to fend for themselves in impoverished conditions," Khatana stated.
The BJP leader further criticized the Congress and NC for their opportunistic politics, alleging that these parties had exploited tribal communities for votes without offering them any tangible benefits. "Congress and NC made hollow promises for 75 years. They used Tribals as mere vote banks and never cared for their upliftment," he said.
Khatana said that the frustration among the tribal community is now palpable, as they are increasingly aware of the manipulations by these parties. "The NC-Congress leaders are now scared of the unity among Tribals and their growing support for the BJP," he remarked.
Khatana praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hailing his government's policies as revolutionary for tribal welfare. "Prime Minister Modi Ji felt the suffering of the community and took much-needed remedial steps to bring them into the mainstream," Khatana said.
He particularly highlighted the implementation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) under the Modi government, calling it a game changer for Tribals across the country. "The FRA was long delayed, but it was Modi ji who ensured that it was enacted and implemented to benefit the tribal communities," Khatana asserted.
The Forest Rights Act, he explained, has empowered the Tribals by granting them legal rights over forest land and resources, which they have historically depended on for their livelihood. "For years, Tribals were treated as encroachers in their own homes by the NC-Congress misrule. The FRA finally corrected that historic injustice, giving them a rightful say in managing the resources they have lived with for generations," Khatana elaborated.
He further mentioned other schemes introduced by the Modi government, such as housing for the poor, free healthcare through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and scholarships for tribal students, which have significantly improved the quality of life for these marginalized communities.
Khatana expressed confidence that the tribal community in Inderwal and across Jammu & Kashmir would continue to support the BJP's efforts to bring about real change in their lives. He called upon the people to reject the "empty promises" of NC and Congress and back the policies of the Modi government that prioritize inclusion, development, and empowerment.
