Government Degree college Hiranagar commemorated the Hindi Diwas

JAMMU, Sept 14: GLDM GDC Hiranagar under the aegis of its Literary committee in collaboration with NSS unit of the college commemorated the Hindi Diwas by organizing symposium on the Topic - Role of Hindi Language in National Integration. The objective of the said prog was to recognise the importance of our Matribhasha Hindi and put impetus on the fact that fostering national integration requires fostering the national language. Near about 25 students participated and expressed their views with great zeal and enthusiasm .The program started with a formal welcome address by Prof.Rakesh Sharma , Convener Literary club.
Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principle of the College applauded the efforts of Department of Hindi and NSS unit of the college and further acknowledged how widely the language is internationally significant as it is third most spoken language in the world.
She emphasised that Hindi is as old as our civilization. It connects us all to communicate and express.
The symposium was quite informational educational and enlightening.The programme was efficiently adjudged by Prof Kawaljeet Kour of Deptt.of Economics ,Prof Ganga Sharma of Deptt.of Dogri and Dr Tripti Sharma from the Hindi Department.
Program revealed to the audience several little-known facts about Hindi as well as the binding source for the nation with diverse identities.Arti Devi, Dakshita Sharma and Riya Sharma bagged first ,second and third position.The Program ended with formal vote of thanks by
Prof Shapia Shameem, Program Officer NSS. The program was compared by Komal Rani and Arti Devi, NSS volunteers of the college. Among others who witnessed the program were Dr. Poonam Kamotra, Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma, Prof. Balvinder kour and Prof. Amit Singh.
