Terrorism on its last legs in J&K, dynasty politics won't return: PM

Early Times Report

Doda, Sept 14: Kickstarting election campaign for his party candidates from the crucial Chenab region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday warned the people against the nefarious designs of dynastic parties, who according him, have ruined Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister, however, said that during the last some years, the BJP-led government has nurtured new leadership to counter dynastic politics.
"The present assembly election will decide Jammu and Kashmir's future, targeted by foreign powers since Independence. Dynastic politics has hollowed out this beautiful region, prioritizing family interests over people's welfare”, he said while launching a blistering attack on the National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party and the Congress.
The Prime Minister highlighted his government's focus on empowering youth leadership since 2014. "We held panchayat polls in 2018, Block Development Council elections in 2019, and District Development Council polls in 2020, bringing democracy to the grassroots. 30,000-35,000 youngsters were elected, taking charge of Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister criticized the Congress, National Conference, and PDP for encouraging corruption, land grabbing, and separatism. “This assembly election is between three families and the youth. My daughters and

sisters, driven by dreams, will build a new Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.
Although Prime Minister attacked opposition parties, his focus was on the Congress party, which is main opponent of BJP in the Jammu province.
As Congress has offered freebies to the people of Jammu and Kashmir during its recent guarantees, Prime Minister seized the opportunity to draw peoples’ attention towards financial conditions in the neighbouring Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh.
“In your neigbouring state Himachal Pradesh, everything has been colloposed due to misdeeds of the Congress government there. What to say of development, even government employees are not getting their salaries for months together”, the Prime Minister said.
Launching a direct attack on Gandhi family, he termed Gandhis as most corrupt family and the Congress party as cheater and fraud.
Highlighting developments in Jammu and Kashmir, he announced that trains will soon connect unlinked areas of Jammu and Kashmir to the rest of India. "Work on the Srinagar-Ramban railway line is complete, and trial runs have begun. Soon, people from Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, and Kashmir will travel directly to Delhi by train."
The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link project, nearing completion, will establish a direct link between Kashmir and the rest of India.
