BJP misleading people on terrorism, encounters persist even during PM's visit to Doda: Rattan Lal Gupta
9/14/2024 10:26:16 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 14: Adv. Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has strongly condemned the recent statement by BJP leader Tarun Chugh for blaming the National Conference for the rise of terrorism in the Union Territory. He called the accusation baseless, questioning the BJP's credibility and the failure of its "Double Engine Government" in addressing the issue of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.Mr Gupta speaking in a joining function organized by Sardar Jatinder Singh Lucky at Sher-e- Kashmir Bhavan, Jammu today.
"Blaming the National Conference for terrorism is nothing but a desperate attempt by the BJP to mislead the people of Jammu and Kashmir. If the National Conference were truly responsible, why has the BJP's own government, both at the Centre and its Proxy Govt in the Union Territory, failed to curb terrorism during its tenure?" Rattan Lal Gupta questioned. He further added that such false allegations are a tactic by the BJP to divert attention from its own failures in governance. Even today dispite the PM's presence in Doda, three encounters were going on in J&K in which our two brave soldiers were martyred and two injured. This is a clear indication that the BJP's strategy to cub terrorism has not yielded the desired results," he said.
The senior NC leader emphasized that the National Conference has sacrificed its hundreds of dedicated party leaders including speaker, ministers, legislatures and workers due to this terrorism. He said that NC has always fought for the preservation of democracy and the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, standing firm against the forces that threaten peace and stability in the region. "The BJP is attempting to rewrite history and malign regional parties by blaming them for terrorism. This is nothing but an act of deflection," he remarked.
On the development front, Rattan Lal Gupta asserted that the BJP government has made no significant contributions to the progress of the region, especially when compared to the National Conference. "People in the Chenab Valley know that true development was only witnessed during Omar Abdullah's regime. The projects initiated during Omar Abdullah's tenure have now come to a complete standstill under the current administration. The so-called 'Double Engine Government' has utterly failed to deliver on its promises," he stated.
The Provincial President urged the people of Jammu region to support the National Conference in the upcoming Assembly elections, assuring them that the Party is the only one capable of fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. "The National Conference has a proven track record of bringing stability, peace, and development. It is time for the people to reject the divisive and misleading rhetoric of the BJP and vote for a party that truly understands the needs of the region," he added. National Conference candidates in Chenab Valley are sweeping all the seats in Chenab Valley.
Among those who joined the party fold included:- Headed by Satnaam Singh , Ajay Kumar, Suresh Bhalla, Parminder Singh, Harmeet Singh, Papu Khan, Anoop Kawantara, Harpreet Singh, Amarpreet Singh, Parneet Singh, Jatinder Singh, Iqbal Singh and others.
Those who were present on this occasion included:- Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretaries Jammu, Issrar Khan Sr. Vice President Central Zone, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, S. Tejinder Singh District President Jammu Urban YNC, Gurmeet Singh ( Jimmy) and others.
