JAMMU, Sept 19: Advocate Maheshwar Singh Manhas, the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) candidate from Jammu North, has ramped up his door-to-door campaigning, garnering significant support from local women who joined him in his outreach efforts. During his campaign, Manhas engaged directly with residents, listening to their concerns and the challenges they face. He assured the public that if elected, he would be a vocal advocate for their needs, pledging to raise their issues forcefully in government.
Manhas didn't shy away from critiquing the current administration, accusing it of failing to address the pressing issues affecting the poor and the unemployed youth in Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed deep concern over the fraud in the Sub-Inspector recruitment exam and the inefficiency of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) in conducting examinations for various posts, which he believes is exacerbating the frustrations of the unemployed.
Highlighting the financial struggles of the common people, Manhas criticized the rising electricity bills and the installation of smart meters, pointing out that these measures, coupled with the unchecked inflation of essential commodities, have pushed poor families to the brink. "The increasing cost of living is beyond the purchasing power of the poor, making their lives miserable," he remarked. Manhas vowed that, if voted into office, he would work tirelessly to address these issues and bring relief to the people of Jammu North. |
