SRINAGAR, Sept 29: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Sh. R.R. Swain, expressed deep condolences on the martyrdom of Head Constable Bashir Ahmad of the J&K Police, who sacrificed his life during an encounter with foreign terrorists in Kathua district. In his heartfelt message, the DGP conveyed profound sorrow to the family of the brave policeman, emphasizing that the entire J&K Police force stands in solidarity with them and will continue to provide unwavering support. He assured the family that while nothing could bring back their courageous loved one, the police force is committed to extending every possible assistance and will work relentlessly to avenge HC Bashir's martyrdom. The DGP praised HC Bashir's exceptional bravery, noting that he faced death without fear while protecting his community and countrymen. He commended his valiant efforts in the face of adversity, as Bashir fiercely fought off the terrorists with his Light Machine Gun (LMG) before succumbing to his injuries. Additionally, Swain extended prayers for the swift recovery of other injured personnel involved in the encounter, reaffirming the police force's commitment to safeguarding the region. The loss of HC Bashir Ahmad marks a somber moment for the J&K Police, as the force salutes his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
