CCI president welcomes Smart City initiative

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 10: Arun Gupta, President of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry, has welcomed the decision by Jammu Smart City Ltd. to replace old electric poles with new ones. This initiative is expected to streamline the electric supply across the city, reducing frequent electrical faults and ensuring better service.
However, Arun Gupta also highlighted the presence of numerous unused electric poles in various parts of the city, including Old City, Canal Road, and Gandhi Nagar. These poles, no longer utilized by the Power Development Department (PDD) or any other agencies, create obstacles for traffic and pedestrians. He urged the authorities to remove these unused poles to improve the free flow of traffic and pedestrian movement.
Arun Gupta further raised concerns about the rising cases of Dengue and Chikungunya in Jammu, particularly in the district. He called for urgent measures to control the spread of these diseases and requested the Jammu Municipal Corporation to intensify fogging operations throughout the municipal areas to curb the outbreak.
The Chamber of Commerce & Industry remains committed to addressing civic issues and improving the overall well-being of Jammu's citizens.
