| Kathua police recovered online defrauded amount of Rs 28,000 | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 10: District Cyber Cell Kathua under overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena -IPS* has once again demonstrated its commitment to combat cyber crime by recovering online defrauded amount of Rs 28,000/- Brief facts of the case are that on 12/09/2024, an online complaint was received at Cyber Cell Kathua in which a complainant namely Bhumika Thankur D/o Ranjit Singh R/o Tehsil Ramkot Kathua reported online fraud of Rs 28,000 from her bank account. The fraudster sent fake bank messages to complainant and told her that he has mistakenly entered her account number while transferring the amount to someone else. The complainant without checking her bank account transferred the amount of Rs 28,000 to fraudster.
During the investigation, the Cyber Cell Kathua team acted swiftly and exhibited hectic efforts and freezed the fraudster account instantly in which the defrauded amount was transferred. Today on 09/10/2024, the defrauded amount of Rs 28,000 has been recovered and credited back to the account of victim on the implementation of Court order.
