Jammu Tawi Golf Course to host prestigious PGTI tournament for third consecutive year

JAMMU, Oct 10: The Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC) is proud to announce its third consecutive year hosting the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) tournament, scheduled from October 22 to 27, 2024. This prestigious event will see 126 national and international players competing, further solidifying Jammu's status as a recognized golfing destination on the global golf tourism map.
The tournament will consist of four rounds of play, starting on October 23 and concluding on October 26. After the second round on October 24, the top 58 players will qualify to compete in the third and fourth rounds on October 25 and 26, respectively.
In addition to the main tournament, a Pro-Am event will be held on October 27, where professional players will team up with amateur golfers from Jammu, offering a unique and exciting opportunity for local participants to play alongside top professionals.
On October 24, the event will also feature a Golf Clinic at the practice range of Jammu Tawi Golf Course. Two top professionals will share their expertise, focusing on the intricacies of the golf swing, giving participants and enthusiasts a chance to learn from the best in the field.
JTGC's continued success in hosting this tournament highlights the course's impeccable maintenance and adherence to international standards, an impressive feat given the challenges posed by local weather conditions. Unlike its sister course, Royal Springs Golf Course, JTGC faces unique environmental hurdles but remains a premier golfing destination in the region.
The tournament is being held under the able guidance of Smt. Yasha Mudgal, Secretary, Tourism, Jammu & Kashmir. Her dynamic leadership has played a pivotal role in ensuring that JTGC remains a top-tier destination for golf enthusiasts. Under her tutelage, JTGC has consistently delivered world-class events, positioning Jammu on the national and international golf tourism map.
This success is also a reflection of the dedicated efforts of the JTGC team, led by Secretary Mr. Manav Gupta heading a small but highly effective team that has consistently ensured that JTGC shines as a top-tier golfing venue, delivering exceptional experiences for players and visitors alike.
As JTGC hosts this prestigious tournament once again, the event continues to elevate Jammu's reputation as a key destination on the golf tourism map, attracting talent and spectators from across the globe.
