Jammu, Oct 10: In observance of World Mental Health Day, a highly insightful and impactful lecture on the topic “Emotion Regulation: The Hidden Driver Behind Psychopathology, Academic Struggles, Relationship Conflicts, Narcissism, and Substance Abuse” was delivered by Prof. Bal Krishan, Assistant Professor, Zoology and Convener, Manodarpan - Psychological Counselling Cell at GGM Science College, Jammu. The event was held under the esteemed patronage of Principal, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta.
The lecture emphasized the critical role of emotional regulation in managing mental health, academic performance, and interpersonal relationships. Prof. Bal Krishan provided in-depth insights into how improper emotional regulation could contribute to various psychological conditions.
Many students attended the lecture and participated enthusiastically in the Interactive Session that followed. The programmeoffered a platform for the students to gain a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of emotional regulation.
The programme was attended by Dr Lekh Raj, Head, Department of Zoology, Dr.Narinder Kumar, Dr Rahul Kait, Dr. Neha Mahajan, Dr. Arjun Singh Rathore, Dr. Arun Sharma, Dr Rohit Bhardwaj, Dr Reetika Rani and Dr. Nisha among others. Dr. Jyotdeep Kour Raina presented the welcome address and the formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. AkankshaParihar. The lecture was part of the college’s ongoing commitment to promoting mental well-being and providing psychological support to students and faculty alike.
