Prof KS Chandrasekar takes over as VC Cluster University of Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 17: Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar, Senior Professor in the Institute of Management, University of Kerala joined as Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) in a momentous ceremony thereby, relieving present Vice Chancellor Prof. Bechan Lal.
Dr. K.S. Chandrasekar who has more than 28 years of teaching, research and consulting experience in the field of Management Studies. He is also the founding member of Department of Management Studies of Alagappa University and later he joined IMK University of Kerala along with this he also worked on various positions viz Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Dean Faculty of Management Studies, Chairman BOS in Business Management for pass and PG, Campus Director, School of Business Management and Legal Studies Director and HOD IMK. He is also nominated as the external member of the Academic Council of Central University of Kerala for 4 years during which he was instrumental in launching the School of Business studies. He has evaluated more than 500 Ph.D. theses till across the country and conducted viva voce examination. He contributed a book on History of Management based on research work. He published 56 articles in UGC Care journals, 86 articles published in peer reviewed journals, 137 popular and well recognised articles in newspapers and journals. He obtained Rs. 157 crores for research funding from various Govt. and Non Govt. Agencies.
The ceremony commenced with a formal welcome by Dr. Monika Sharma, Dean Students Welfare in which she presented the brief profile of CLUJ and the University's vision of nurturing a knowledge society of enriched learners under one umbrella indicating the ethos of a Cluster signifying the plurality and diversity of the University. Prof. Bechan Lal, the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the University acknowledged the cooperation and support extended by the faculty and staff of the University during his tenure. The new Vice Chancellor Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar has assured his full contribution and support to strengthen Cluster University of Jammu at diverse parameters from academia to research and also entrepreneurship and employability.
