Extension Personnel trained on extension methods and communication techniques

JAMMU, Oct 19: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kishtwar SKUAST Jammu organized one day training programme on extension methods and communication techniques for the extension personnel of Department of Agriculture and Farmers welfare Kishtwar under the guidance of Dr Amrish Vaid, Director Extension SKUAST Jammu. 30 officers and extension personnel of the department from the district attended the training programme.
Dr Narinder Paul, Head KVK Kishtwar organized the programme. Amjad Hussain Malik Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Khalid Zargar, Jamshed Hussain SMS DL, Manzoor Ahmad Zargar SDAO Marwah, Dheeraj Singh SDAO Paddar, Jatinder Sigh SMS SDL Agriculture extension officers of different zones of the District also participated in the programme.
During the programme, Dr Narinder Paul deliberated upon different extension methodologies for planning, implementing the field extension programmes especially for the far flung and remote farmers clients. Basic principle and procedures of extension programme planning for small and marginal farmers were also discussed in detail. Besides, participants were also trained on different communication techniques using individual group and mass methods for convincing the farmers and getting feedback data. Different formats for collection of data for compilation of individual and area based success stories were also discussed.
Amjad Hussain Malik CAO Kishtwar while speaking on the occasion, called for collection and compilation of authentic basic data at panchayat level for formulation of effective extension activities. He called for initiating the process of soil samling for the season. Manzoor Ahmad Zargar SDAO Marwah, Dheeraj Singh SDAO Paddar also spoke on the occasion. Programme ended with vote of thanks by Jatinder Singh SMS SDL Paddar.
