Mission Director HADP visited Govt Fruit Plant Nursery

JAMMU, Oct 19: Mission Director HADP (Holistic Agriculture Development Programme) Sh. Rahul Yadav, IAS paid a visit to Govt. Fruit Plant Nursery, Vijaypur, Samba along with Director Horticulture Jammu Sh. C. L Sharma for inspecting the implementation of different components of project P-21 of HADP.
During the visit, Mission Director inspected protected cultivation structure having micro- irrigation facilities established in the nursery under the project P-21 of HADP. He also inspected Mother block of Dragon fruit, an exotic fruit plant, established during the current year under the component "Production of Designer Plants" of HADP.
While inspecting the nursery, he appreciated fruiting in the experimental Mother block of Date Palm which was established during the year 2020-21 and came into bearing this year for the first time.
However, on interacting with the officers in the nursery, he laid emphasis on effective implementation of HADP projects. He impressed upon them to make maximum efforts to reach to every farmer so that various interventions being taken up under HADP are implemented and objective of the Govt. is well achieved.
Further, the officers were instructed to develop the nursery on scientific lines so that this may become a model nursery with latest facilities.
Earlier, Director Horticulture briefed Mission Director about the developmental works going on in the nursery for its holistic development. He informed that the nursery is producing quality true to type fruit Plants of Mango, Guava, Litchi, Citrus etc. for farming community. This nursery is catering the requirement of sub-tropical fruit plants of the farmers of Jammu province to a greater extent.
Mission Director was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Samba Mukesh Sharma and other officers of the department.
