Five-day refresher course for Crime Branch Officers concludes

UDHAMPUR, Oct 19: A five-day "Refresher/Orientation Course for Officers and Officials of the Crime Branch" concluded today at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur. The training program saw the participation of 18 officers and officials from the Crime Branch, Jammu & Kashmir. The course covered key aspects of Crime Branch operations, including the fundamentals of filing FIRs, the evidentiary value in criminal investigations, financial literacy, and tackling bank and income tax frauds. It also featured specialized training on the use of the Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit (SAECK) and discussions on the concept of social defense.
Prominent speakers, including Ajay Bandral, Advocate, Rahul Pandit, Director of Ideogram Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Jammu, and experienced police officers, delivered lectures on various relevant topics, enriching the training sessions.
The valedictory function was presided over by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, and Deputy Director (Indoor) at SKPA, who served as the Chief Guest. In his closing remarks, Gupta urged participants to embrace technology and modern investigative techniques to improve their work efficiency. He also encouraged the officers to share their newfound knowledge with colleagues to strengthen the overall investigative capacity of the force.
