DC Shopian, Secretary J&K Sports Council lead Mega Drug Eradication Awareness Rally

SHOPIAN, Oct 19: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar and Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull today led a Mega Drug Awareness Rally at Shopian in order to create awareness on drugs and its hazardous ramifications.
The rally commenced from GDC Shopian and culminated at Jamia Masjid, Shopian while traversing through Gagren, Clock Tower Chowk of town.
The rally was attended by hundreds of students, teachers, public, officials and officers of civil and police administration.
During the rally, participants were carrying banners, posters condemning drug Addiction, depicting the significant disastrous impact of the menace on the norms and conduct of society.
The participants also engaged in sloganeering against the menace in order to sensitise the public of the seriousness and sensitivity of the issue. The DC speaking on the occasion at Clock Tower emphasised on the gravity of the illness which is consuming innumerable lives of youth and shattering the dreams of parents for the happy and blissful growth of their children.
On the occasion, people also condemned the killing of non local labourer, Ashok Chouhan of Bihar who was found dead yesterday at Melhura, Zainapora.
