University of Jammu Defeats S.B.P. University Pune by 21 Runs in All India VC Cup 2024

Jammu, Oct 20: In an exciting match of the All India VC Cup 2024, University of Jammu triumphed over S.B.P. University Pune by 21 runs. The tournament is being hosted by Panjab University, Chandigarh.
University of Jammu won the toss and chose to bat first. They set a strong total of 201 runs in their 20 overs, losing 7 wickets. Shantul Raina led the charge with a quickfire 50 off 28 balls, followed by Shami Kumar’s 46 off 35 balls. Niranjan contributed 33 in 21 balls, with other useful scores from Rajesh (15), Raj Kumar (12), and Suheel (16).
In response, S.B.P. University Pune gave a tough fight, but managed to score only 185 runs in their 20 overs, falling short by 21 runs. Vinod top-scored for Pune with 51 not out from 35 balls, supported by Nitin’s 45 off 28 balls and Manish’s 43 from 28 balls.
For University of Jammu, Raj Kumar Bakshi was the standout bowler, taking 2 wickets for 32 runs. Balwant, Shami, and Rajesh chipped in with 1 wicket each.
Shami Kumar was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
The Director of Sports and Physical Education at University of Jammu, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, congratulated the team on their win. The team’s manager, Mr. Parshotam Lal, and assistant manager, Mr. Mohit, also extended their congratulations to the players for their outstanding performance.
