KATHUA, Oct 24: District Social Welfare Department of Kathua held an awareness program on "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" at Government Boys Higher Secondary School today focusing on the critical issue of substance abuse and its impacts on individuals and communities.
Led by the Sankalp: HEW team, the program featured engaging presentations highlighting the psychological, social, and economic consequences of addiction. The team shared personal recovery stories, emphasizing that "Every choice you make matters; choose life over addiction."
Students participated in a digital campaign, sharing their pledges on social media to extend the message beyond the school. Workshops on stress management and healthy coping mechanisms provided practical tools for dealing with peer pressure and life challenges, reinforcing the idea that "It's not just about saying no to drugs; it's about saying yes to a better life."
The event concluded with a collective pledge to become ambassadors for a drug-free community. Refreshments allowed for informal discussions among students and staff, strengthening connections made during the program.
This initiative not only educated but empowered students to promote a healthier, drug-free future, showcasing the vital role of youth in societal transformation. The message remains clear: "Together, we can build a drug-free society!"
