J&K Bank Organizes Seminar-Cum-Awareness Camp
10/29/2024 11:12:09 PM
Srinagar, Oct 29: In line with its commitment to fostering sustainable agricultural growth and supporting the farming community, J&K Bank today organized a seminar-cum-awareness camp in collaboration with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) and the Horticulture Department. Held at the District Horticulture Office in Budgam, the seminar focused on promoting the High-Density Plantation Scheme, drawing a large gathering of farmers eager to explore the scheme's potential benefits.
Speaking on the occasion, the Bank's Deputy General Manager (DGM) Rakesh Magotra explained in detail the purpose, process and features of the High-Density Plantation Scheme. Addressing the assembled farmers, he outlined various avenues available under the scheme, emphasizing the financial benefits that could be accessed through credit linkage with J&K Bank.
He also highlighted the Bank’s initiatives to support the farming sector, particularly through government-backed schemes aimed at enhancing productivity and profitability in horticulture.
Earlier, Senior Manager Aftab Ahmad Shalla introduced the scheme to attendees by providing an overview.
The event was attended by the Bank’s Cluster Head (Budgam), Lead District Manager (Budgam), and Branch Managers from neighboring areas, who engaged with farmers and discussed the Bank's diverse financial offerings. J&K Bank’s Facilitator (FLCC) further informed the attendees about various Social Security Schemes available to the farming community, which serve as additional support measures.
The interactive session allowed participants to voice their concerns, which were addressed by Bank representatives, ensuring clarity and support for those interested in the scheme.
Present on the occasion, District Horticulture Specialist Masarat Jabeen and Dr. Oroosa Khalil, Associate Professor from SKUAST-K, also added valuable insights from the horticulture sector to the discussion and addressing farmers' specific queries.
The awareness camp concluded with a vote of thanks by Masarat Jabeen, expressing appreciation for the collaborative efforts to uplift the agricultural sector in Kashmir.
