National Painters' Camp by JKAACL, JKCCA commences

JAMMU, Nov 7: A National Painters' Camp organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu was inaugurated today by eminent Artist Kulwant Singh Gill from Amritsar at JKTDC Tourist Complex, Mansar Lake (Samba). Twelve well known and senior artists from different parts of the country are participating in this camp.
Speaking on this occasion Sh. O P Sharma, the Founder Director of Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) said that the camp will give platform to artists from different places to interact with their counterparts, have first hand information of their mediums and techniques and various developments taking place in their regions. Sh. O P Sharma thanked Smt. Harvinder Kour JKAS, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for providing an opportunity to Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts to collaborate with the Academy in organizing the National Painters; Camp.
In his address, the chief guest S. Kulwant Singh Gill said that such events give opportunity to the artists to update themselves and remain in touch with the other artists to know the trends taking place in the world of contemporary art. He thanked JKAACL and JKCCA for providing platform to the artists to pour out their creativity at a wider platform.
The artists who are participating in the National Painters' Camp include Shanthala Madhu (Banglore), Yashwant Patel (Valabh Vidyanagar), Swati M Jain (Bhopal), Kulwant Singh Gill and Dharmiander Sharma (Amritsar); Jang S. Verman, Ashok Mehra, Kamalnain Bhan, Shakti Kumari, Parveen Gupta and Veer Ji Sumbly (Jammu), and Tariq Saifi (Surankote);
Irshad Tantray, Exhibition Officer, JKAACL, incharge of the Camp was present on this occasion
The camp will culminate on 11th November, 2024.
