CBC exhibition on BNS, centrally sponsored schemes concludes

JAMMU, Nov 7: A two-day Multimedia Exhibition on Bhartiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS), Mission LIFE, Swachh Bharat Mission, Poshan Abhiyan and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) organized by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) Rajouri concluded today. The programme was organised at Government Degree College (GDC) Nowshera.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Nowshera, Babu Ram Tandon was the chief guest of the event and Director CBC J&K and Ladakh Ghulam Abbas presided over the function. Faculty of GDC Nowshera, New National Public Higher Secondary School Nowshera, officials from Health, Agriculture and Jal Shakti Departments were also present.
In his address ADC Tandon said that such kinds of awareness programmes about the welfare initiatives of the Government are very useful for the general public especially in the far-flung border areas like Nowshera. He assured full support from his office for assistance with respect to domicile, income, disability, BPL and caste certificates to avail the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes. He urged the audience to learn more and avail benefits about schemes related to higher education, agriculture, animal husbandry, sheep husbandry and health departments to achieve the target of Viksit Bharat.
Joint Director, CBC J&K and Ladakh, Ghulam Abbas, in his address gave a detailed overview of the Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP). He elaborated on different government initiatives and said that the Government policies and schemes are beneficial right from pre-natal stage to old age of a person. He urged the audience to spread awareness about various benefits of Centrally Sponsored Schemes so that deserving and needy avail the benefits.
Assistant Professor, GDC Nowshera, Romani Gupta, spoke about schemes for economically weaker sections, persons with disabilities, skill based and vocational training, UDAAN Scheme, UGC Educational Loan and merit-based scholarships.
CHO Health Department, Ramesh Kumar informed the audience about various schemes related to health department including Rashtriya Bal Suraksha Karyakram (RBSK), Rashtriya Kishor Suraksha Karyakram (RKSK), Janani Suraksha Yojna (JSY), Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojna (JSSY) & Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY). He also said that the health department Poonch is providing counselling services regarding personal hygiene, nutrition and sanitary napkins to adolescent girls.
A representative from agriculture department Baljit Singh gave a detailed description of various agriculture related schemes like Soil Health Card, Kissan Credit Card, Fasal Bima Yojna, Kissan Pension Yojna and PM Kissan Yojna. He also encouraged the audience to adopt mushroom cultivation, poultry and organic farming.
As a part of the programme, an open quiz was also organized to engage the audience. Theme based cultural items were presented by artists of registered troupe of CBC J&K. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by CBC Poonch, Vijay Mattoo. The program concluded with prize distribution to the winners of the quiz competition
