SRINAGAR, Nov 7: With a view to promote safe and eco-friendly mobility at the campus besides banking convenience, J&K Bank today provided four electric vehicles (e-vehicles) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program to the IIM Jammu and commissioned an ATM within the premises of the institute.
On the occasion, General Manager & Divisional Head (Jammu) Sunit Kumar handed over the symbolic key of the vehicles to
Director IIM (Jammu) Prof. B S Sahay in the presence of Chief Administrative Officer (IIM) Kesavan Baskkaran, Cluster Head (Jammu cluster-II) Arjun Singh Rathore besides other officials from both the organizations. The e-vehicles have been provided to facilitate easy, safe and eco-friendly transportation for students, with a special focus on females and differently-abled.
On the occasion, Director IIM (Jammu) also inaugurated the ATM along with the Bank's General Manager and Divisional Head (Jammu) Sunit Kumar.
Speaking after the inauguration, General Manager and Divisional Head (Jammu) Sunit Kumar said, "Carrying forward our institutional legacy, we are committed to ensure the customer convenience as well as public welfare through our interventions. While the provision of four electric vehicles highlights our commitment to sustainable and inclusive community initiatives by ensuring safe, accessible and eco-friendly mobility for students, especially women and differently-abled individuals ; the new ATM facility will provide seamless banking access to the academic community here."
Expressing his gratitude to the Bank, Director of IIM (Jammu) Prof. B S Sahay thanked the Bank for establishing the banking channel and providing e-vehicles for movement within the campus. He said, "We are immensely grateful to J&K Bank for its thoughtful initiatives, which align closely with our values of accessibility, inclusivity and sustainability. The handover of the e-vehicles under their CSR program further strengthens our partnership and adds value by enhancing mobility options for the academic community, especially those with distinct needs. Moreover, this ATM will ease banking access for our students and staff by providing round-the-clock access to banking services."
Notably, the CSR initiative reflects Bank's ongoing efforts to drive meaningful change and promote environmentally conscious practices among the people and institutions it serves.
