JAMMU, Nov 7: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, IPS, accompanied by the DIG DKR Range, Shridhar Patil, IPS, and DIG Training (PHQ), Ms. Sarah Rizvi, IPS, visited Doda to review the overall security scenario and operational preparedness, and strengthen the security apparatus in the region.
Anand Jain, IPS, ADGP Jammu Zone, was briefed about the district's general state of law and order and security by Sh. Mohd Aslam, IPS, and SSP Doda. To prevent any attempts by the anti-national elements to disrupt the peace and tranquillity of the district, ADGP Jammu zone stressed the necessity of heightened monitoring and proactive actions. He also directed the officers to strengthen intelligence gathering and sharing mechanisms to preempt any security threats. The officers were also encouraged to focus on collecting robust electronic and circumstantial evidence to secure convictions, expedite case disposals, and reduce case backlogs. The review emphasized the importance of thorough investigations leading to convictions, especially in cases under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Additionally, he stressed the need to start campaigns against traffic violations in order to prevent overloading and overspeeding, which are the primary causes of traffic accidents in the hilly district of Doda.
The ADGP Jammu zone also interacted with the personnel of the Special Operations Group (SOG). He complimented them for their hard work, and assured them of all logistic support for strengthening the operational grid, including the provision of the latest gadgets and weaponry. The ADGP emphasized upon the officers to strengthen the intelligence network and work in a well-coordinated and synergized manner to counter any threat on any front.
ADGP Jammu Zone chaired another meeting with the officers of Army, Paramilitary forces and district police. The officers were advised on the key areas of intelligence gathering and analysis, operational readiness, area dominance in upper reaches, and community engagement.
The ADGP commended the district Police for their efforts in maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety. He urged them to continue working diligently and professionally to uphold the highest standards of policing.
