7-Day Cricket Tournament Inaugurated by NHPC

Bani, Nov 10: A seven-day cricket tournament organized by Bharat Sports Club Bani kicked off today at the Government Degree College Ground, Sarthali, in Bani. The tournament was inaugurated by Sanjay Kumar, Civil Manager at NHPC, who cut the ribbon to mark the beginning of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar congratulated all the participating teams and emphasized the importance of sports in promoting unity and skill development among the youth. He appreciated the efforts of Bharat Sports Club in organizing such events, which provide a platform for local talent.
Hafiz Qureshi, President of Bharat Sports Club, highlighted that the primary aim of the club is to nurture and showcase the hidden talent of the youth in Bani. He mentioned that this is the seventh edition of the Freedom Cup, with 16 teams competing this year.
The tournament allows a maximum of four players from outside Bani in each team, with the rest being local talent, providing an opportunity for Bani youth to showcase their cricketing skills.
The tournament is being held in collaboration with NHPC Sewa-II Power Station, Mashka, and promises to be an exciting competition for local cricket enthusiasts. This initiative is part of the club’s ongoing efforts to organize various sports events throughout the year, fostering community engagement and promoting sports in the region.
