KISHTWAR, Nov 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan today visited Model Panchayat Sigdi B1 in Block Mughal Maidan where he presided over a Public Interaction and reviewed progress of work on key developmental projects taken up under Model Panchayat development project.
Panchayat Sigdi B1 is among the 13 designated Panchayats selected in each block of the district Kishtwar to saturate 78 key development indicators.
During the awareness cum interactive camp, the DC reviewed the impact of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G), Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), health initiatives, and social programs for the overall welfare and progress of all the sections of local communities.
Moreover, the DC highlighted the importance of expanding and developing green areas through a massive plantation to serve the cause of environmental conservation.
In his address, R K Shavan said that the district administration’s priority will be to make Sigdi B1 100 percent solar light reliant Panchayat in the district.
He interacted with the Village Monitoring Committee, local residents, and ex-PRI members, focusing on saturation of all indicators, addressing community concerns and offering immediate solutions.
He also urged the Village Monitoring Committee to actively collaborate with departments to address gaps in Panchayat development.
Special attention was laid on cleanliness initiatives, polythene-free campaigns, door-to-door waste collection under SBM and promotion of Nasha Mukht Abhiyan among youth. DC emphasized community involvement in fostering a healthy environment and preventing substance abuse.
In response to local health needs, the concerned departments were directed to organize awareness cum public service deliverance camps for the residents at their doorstep.
He also highlighted the importance of on-ground involvement of the officers and officials by conducting spot visits on regular intervals for effective implementation of developmental programs and redressing of the public issues.
ACD Phulail Singh, BDO Mughal Maidan and other field functionaries of the key departments were present.
