Kavinder Gupta Urges NC Govt to Focus on Development, Respect People’s Mandate
11/17/2024 9:38:43 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 17: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, called on the National Conference (NC) government to prioritize the development of Jammu and Kashmir and focus on addressing the problems of the people, instead of engaging in unnecessary political issues.
He was speaking at a meeting during his visit to Marh Constituency to oversee the ongoing Sadastaya Abhiyan, a membership drive launched by the BJP across the Union Territory.
Gupta was accompanied by Surinder Bhagat, MLA Marh, Vinay Gupta Prabhari, Nihal Singh, Vikram Singh, and Amarjit Kour. He emphasized that the NC leadership should respect the mandate given by the people and concentrate on improving the lives of the citizens, rather than revisiting issues like Article 370 that have already been decisively addressed by the central government.
“The NC should focus on real issues that matter to the common man—such as development, infrastructure, and public welfare. The issue of Article 370 is settled and is a matter solely for the Centre. It is the responsibility of the NC government to work for the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir,” said Kavinder Gupta.
The senior BJP leader urged the NC to stop engaging in what he termed “dirty politics” and instead concentrate on fulfilling its duty to the people. He also highlighted the importance of the ongoing Sadastaya Abhiyan, asking BJP leaders to ensure that every voter from the recent assembly elections becomes a member of the party, further strengthening the BJP’s presence in the region.
Kavinder Gupta emphasized that the BJP, being the largest political party in the world, requires continuous efforts to bring more people under its fold, convincing them of its nationalistic values and love for the country.
In his remarks, Surinder Bhagat, MLA Marh, expressed confidence that the Sadastaya Abhiyan was gaining momentum in the constituency. He assured that the BJP would emerge victorious in upcoming political contests, including the Panchayat and Urban Local Body (ULB) elections, citing the dedication of BJP activists in the region.
The meeting was a part of the BJP’s larger efforts to connect with the people and strengthen its base across Jammu and Kashmir.
