Jammu, Nov 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Congress is set for a major overhaul after its worst-ever defeat in the recent assembly elections, where the party secured only six seats, its lowest-ever performance in the state's history. This drastic measure is aimed at rejuvenating the party by replacing outdated leaders with young and dynamic ones, bringing in fresh perspectives and energy.
The party's poor performance has prompted its leaders to rethink their strategy and focus on rebuilding from the ground up. By giving young leaders a chance, the Congress hopes to revitalize its base and reconnect with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that the party has decided to bring in fresh faces and ideas to revamp the party's image and appeal to a newer generation.

d coordination as weak organization set was one of the reasons for party’s historic debacle”, sources said, adding, “fresh faces would be appointment on important positions in the party”
Sources said that the party has further decided to engage with the public, understanding their concerns, and addressing their needs.
This overhaul is seen as a crucial step towards restoring the party's lost glory in the state. With its sights set on the next election, the Jammu and Kashmir Congress is determined to emerge stronger and more resilient than ever.
Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, had earlier emphasized the party's commitment to restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, which is likely to be a key aspect of the party's revival strategy.
“By focusing on the concerns of the people and empowering young leaders, the Congress aims to regain its footing in the state's politics”, he said.
