Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 17: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) organized a five-day multimedia photo exhibition as part of its Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme at the renowned Jhiri Mela in Marh. The exhibition aimed to raise awareness on a variety of critical themes, including revamped criminal laws, nutrition, water preservation under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and environmental protection.
The event was inaugurated by Sh. Bharat Bhushan, Chairman of the District Development Council Jammu, in the presence of key dignitaries, including Sh. Ghulam Abbas, Director of CBC J&K and Ladakh, and Sh. Ram Krishan Rathore, Tehsildar of Marh. The exhibition provided an interactive platform for attendees to explore visual displays on the Bhartiya Nayaya Sahita, 2023, the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and the Bhartiya Sakhya Adhinayam, 2023, which are part of the country’s revamped criminal laws.
In his speech, Sh. Bharat Bhushan emphasized the importance of understanding these new laws and how they contribute to community safety and awareness. He encouraged participants to actively share the information they gathered at the exhibition with their communities.
Additionally, the exhibition showcased key national initiatives, such as Poshan Abhiyan, which focuses on the holistic development of children and mothers, and the Jal Jeevan Mission, which seeks to ensure sustainable water resources for every household. Sh. Ghulam Abbas highlighted the role of collaborative efforts in addressing the nation’s nutritional and environmental challenges, urging students to take the knowledge gained from the exhibition back to their families and communities.
The exhibition also featured informative presentations on various government schemes, such as agriculture initiatives by Sh. Vikram Katryal, Agriculture Extension Officer for Marh, and insights on the successful implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission by Er. Shubam Gupta, Assistant Engineer, Jal Shakti Department.
As part of the event, a debate, an open quiz, and a painting competition were held, where students shared their perspectives on the exhibition’s themes. This interactive platform allowed participants to explore solutions and opportunities related to these crucial national issues, inspiring them to become ambassadors for positive change in their communities.
