Early Times Report

BHADERWAH, Dec 5: The Poshan Project Bhaderwah today launched the training program for the first batch of Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) under the “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” initiative.
The program, spearheaded by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, integrates early childhood care, nutrition, and education into a unified framework aimed at fostering holistic child development. The training session was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar in presence of District Programme Officer (DPO) Paramjeet Singh.
The program underscores a dual approach, ensuring optimal nutrition for children aged 3–6 years while simultaneously fostering early literacy, cognitive development, and life skills through age-appropriate activities at Anganwadi centers.
Emphasis was laid on empowering Anganwadi Workers with strategies to conduct interactive educational activities, monitor children’s nutritional and developmental progress effectively, and encourage active community participation. The training highlighted the significance of using a play-way method to make learning engaging and impactful for young minds.
Special attention was given to enhancing the Anganwadi Workers’ capacity to act as facilitators of change in their communities. Participants were provided with tools to address local challenges in implementing the program and align their efforts with the larger goal of improving early childhood education and health. Discussions also focused on strengthening interdepartmental collaboration to ensure sustained success.
The session concluded with a call to action for all stakeholders to contribute to the initiative’s success by promoting awareness and participation at the grassroots level. The holistic integration of “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” is envisioned to create a robust foundation for children’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being in the district, setting a benchmark for similar initiatives nationwide.
