Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 5: Senior BJP leader and former Jammu Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta has called upon the government to consider the demand of Jammu and Kashmir's youth for age relaxation while applying for government jobs.
Speaking exclusively to Early Times on Thursday, Gupta emphasized that the region's youth have suffered immensely due to terrorism and deserve special concessions in job eligibility criteria.
"Age relaxation in jobs should be given to the youth as they have suffered due to terrorism. The government must address this issue to ensure justice and employment for our young generation," Gupta said.
Highlighting the BJP’s role as a strong opposition in J&K, Gupta reaffirmed the party’s commitment to standing by the people and holding the government accountable. "Our leaders have been working on the ground since the day they were elected. BJP leadership has assigned different areas, including the constituencies we lost, to our MLAs. They have been tasked with listening to the grievances of the people and resolving their issues,” he said.
The BJP leader also expressed confidence in the party’s growing influence in Jammu and Kashmir, pointing to its performance in the last assembly elections. "Peop
The government must address the unemployment issue to ensure justice for our young generation.
Our leaders have been working on the ground since the day they were elected.
"People of Jammu have reposed their faith in us, and we will not let them down.
The Tawi Riverfront will emerge as a key attraction with small boats and shikaras, akin to Dal Lake.
e of Jammu have reposed their faith in us, and we will not let them down. In the coming years, you will see BJP winning assembly seats in Kashmir as well," Gupta asserted.
Discussing Jammu's development, Gupta praised the central government’s efforts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He highlighted ongoing projects aimed at transforming Jammu into a major tourist destination. "Jammu is being developed as a tourist destination. The Tawi Riverfront will emerge as a key attraction with small boats and shikaras, akin to Dal Lake. The government has successfully shifted Jammu and Kashmir from terrorism to tourism," he said.
Gupta also urged the Omar Abdullah led government to live up to public expectations and fulfill its promises. "The J&K Government should address the issues that matter most to the common man. We as an opposition will ensure that the government remains accountable and delivers on its commitments," he added.
On the BJP’s role in the current political landscape, Gupta said, "The BJP has 28 legislators in the assembly, and each of them is duty-bound to hold the government accountable. Our focus remains on ensuring that the concerns of the people are addressed effectively."
