| GDC Samba conducts outreach workshop | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Dec 10: In a significant initiative to enhance the educational experience for students, the Research/Innovation/Incubation (RII) Committee in collaboration with GDC Kathua and IIT Bombay, organized an Outreach Workshop on Virtual Labs under the National Mission on Education. The workshop, held under the aegis of the IQAC, aimed to introduce students to the emerging world of virtual labs and their transformative potential in education and research. The workshop attended by students, faculty members and subject matter experts was designed to give students hands-on experience with virtual labs and to promote the use of technology in learning. Dr. Ehsan Illahi and Prof. Ajay Sharma were the resource persons for the event. During the workshop, experts provided insights into the practical application of virtual labs, explaining how these platforms allow students to perform experiments and explore scientific concepts without the need for a physical lab. The session also included demonstrations on how virtual labs can be effectively utilized across various disciplines, from engineering to science and technology. The event was a part of the National Mission on Education, which aims to enhance access to quality education through the use of innovative technologies. The committee's collaboration with IIT Bombay ensured that students had the opportunity to interact with cutting-edge technology and gain exposure to advanced educational resources. Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the college, highlighted the importance of virtual labs as a tool for improving the quality of education and fostering innovative learning practices. Dr. Pankaj Bandhoria, Convener, Research/ Innovation /Incubation (RII) Committee coordinated the event. |
