JAMMU, Dec 15: Shweta Mittal, a renowned runner, cyclist, and fitness enthusiast, has etched her name in history as the first woman from Jammu & Kashmir to win the prestigious Procam Slam Marathon title. She achieved this remarkable feat on Sunday during the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K run, marking the culmination of her Procam Slam journey.
The Procam Slam is a celebrated running program that honors amateur runners who successfully complete four major Procam running events: the Tata Mumbai Marathon, TCS World 10K Bengaluru, Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon, and Tata Steel Kolkata 25K. Participants must meet stringent finish-time cutoffs for each event to earn the coveted title:
Marathon: Under 6 hours 30 minutes (Tata Mumbai Marathon)
10K Open: Under 1 hour 25 minutes (TCS World 10K Bengaluru)
Half Marathon: Under 3 hours 30 minutes (Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon)
25K Run: Under 3 hours 45 minutes (Tata Steel Kolkata 25K)
Shweta displayed extraordinary perseverance and skill throughout these demanding events. At the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K Run, she competed against more than 20,000 athletes from across India and abroad, showcasing her unwavering passion and dedication. Her success earned her the prestigious "Procam Slam 2024" title, solidifying her place as an inspirational figure in the marathon community.

Shweta Mittal has been a prominent figure in the Indian marathon circuit for several years, actively encouraging youth participation in sports. "It was a proud moment for me to participate in such an international event. I believe nothing is difficult if you decide to achieve it," she said. "We should not participate just to win the race, but participation is much more important. Cycling and running are the best ways to improve your health and refine your endurance."
