MANDI GOBINDGARH, Dec 23: The School of Nursing at Desh Bhagat University hosted a grand "Freshers Party" to warmly welcome the new batches of B.Sc Nursing (I Semester) and GNM (I Year) students. The event was a vibrant blend of joy, enthusiasm, and cultural celebration.
The occasion was graced by the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Zora Singh, Hon'ble Chancellor of DBU, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor of DBU, Dr. Puneet Girdhar, Registrar of PNRC Mohali; Dr. Anu Girdhar, Professor at National Dental College, Dera Bassi; Dr. Sandeep Singh, President DBU, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President DBU. The program began on a traditional note with the floral welcome of dignitaries and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Prof. (Dr.) Lovesampuranjot Kaur, Principal of the School of Nursing, extended a formal welcome and set the tone for the evening. Dr. Puneet Girdhar and Dr. Anu Girdhar shared their words of wisdom, inspiring the students to remain steadfast in their pursuits and to strive for excellence. Adding to the spirit of motivation, Dr. Zora Singh addressed the gathering, offering his blessings and assuring the university's unwavering support to the students in their academic and personal growth.
The evening was brought alive with lively cultural performances by students, showcasing traditional Punjabi Bhangra, Gidha, and other energetic displays of talent. The crowning moment of the celebration was the title ceremony, where students were awarded for their charm and personality:
Vagish and Jashandeep as Freshers, while Guneet and Deepika captured were crowned Freshers.
Rahul and Ajayveer were honored with the title of Personality Titles.
Maisha, Jatinder, and Gurveen took the title of Charming.
In the Beautiful category, Abhisruti and Ekampreet. Meanwhile, Vishal and Bhavesh, who was crowned Handsome.
Dr.Prabhjot Singh, HOD of the School of Nursing, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and students for making the event a grand success.
