JAMMU, Dec 27: In a decisive move to combat drug trafficking, Jammu Police successfully apprehended Mohd. Mushtaq @ Chani, a notorious drug peddler from Miran Sahib, under the Prevention of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT-NDPS Act). The arrest was made by a specialized team from Police Station Miran Sahib, led by SHO PS Miran Sahib, under the vigilant supervision of SDPO R.S.Pura, SP Headquarters Jammu, and SSP Jammu.
Mr. Mushtaq, residing at Kothey Sheikh, Miran Sahib District, had multiple FIRs registered against him for his involvement in the drug trade, specifically targeting local youths. Despite previous arrests, he continued his illicit activities, frequently securing bail from Hon'ble Courts. Determined to put an end to his criminal endeavors, the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu issued a stringent PIT-NDPS warrant, leading to his eventual capture and subsequent lodging in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
