MCM College hosts online session on PCS preparation

CHANDIGARH, Jan 14: The Department of Public Administration at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organized an insightful online session titled 'Preparation for Punjab Civil Services'. The session featured Ms. Gursimranjeet Kaur (PCS), an esteemed alumna of the college, who shared practical strategies for excelling in the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) examination. Dr. Gurvinder Kaur, Head of the Department, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in motivating and empowering students aspiring to join public services. Ms. Gursimranjeet provided a detailed roadmap for tackling the PCS exam, covering its syllabus, notification, and effective preparation techniques.
Key areas of focus included General Studies Papers I-IV, Punjab-specific topics, and current affairs. The speaker outlined a structured preparation plan, stressing time management, consistent revision, and the use of daily planners or digital tools to monitor progress.
The session also highlighted the significance of mental well-being during preparation. Participants were advised to adopt personalized study strategies, maintain a balanced lifestyle, and prioritize stress management to ensure sustained motivation.
Gursimranjeet encouraged aspirants to aim for a level of preparation comparable to the UPSC examination. She concluded by emphasizing that preparation is not merely about clearing an exam but also about fostering personal growth.
Approximately 75 participants attended the session and expressed appreciation for the valuable insights shared. Suman Mahajan extended gratitude to the speaker, noting that such expert-led sessions play a vital role in providing holistic education and inspiring future leaders
