Sadhotra stress role of Lamberdars, Chowkidars in strengthening unity, foiling intolerance

JAMMU, Jan 23: Senior National Conference leader and Additional General Secretary Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today urged Lamberdars and village Chowkidars to play an active role in fostering communal harmony by unleashing machinations comical to brotherhood and peace.
Speaking at a conference of Lamberdars and Chowkidars at village Mana, Suchetgarh Assembly Constituency, organised by Ch Madan Lal President Lamberdars and Chowkidars Union Suchetgarh and Ch Naresh Bittu District President Jammu Rural-B National Conference. Mr Sadhotra highlighted the importance of grassroots workers in promoting unity and maintaining peace in society as they enjoy mass contact in their areas and said that Lamberdars and Chowkidars are bridge between the government and the common people. Mr Sadhotra also emphasized the need for collective efforts to counter the dangerous trend of intolerance and hate that is threatening the social fabric of the nation. "Our country is confronted with a serious challenge of division and hatred, which must be met with unity and peace. Lamberdars and village Chowkidars, being conscious keepers at the grassroots level, have a crucial responsibility to engage with every section of society and ensure that harmony prevails," he said. Former Minister urged these community representatives to reach out to the last person in the social hierarchy and work towards creating an inclusive and harmonious society.
Sadhotra acknowledged the vital role grassroots workers play in society and assured them that their concerns are being prioritized by the National Conference. "The Omar Abdullah government recognizes the significance of grassroot-level workers and remains committed to their welfare. We will take up their issues with the concerned authorities to ensure that their grievances are redressed promptly," he added.
The National Conference leaders collectively expressed their gratitude for the unwavering commitment of grassroots workers and pledged to continue supporting them in their mission to strengthen society. They reaffirmed the party's resolve to work towards a more unified, progressive, and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ayoub Malik and Pardeep Bali, Secretaries of Jammu Province National Conference reiterated that prosperous villages are the foundation of a progressive state and nation. "Villages are the backbone of our development by effectively implementing welfare schemes at the grassroots level. Highlighting the need for gender equality, Provincial President of the Women Wing of National Conference, Mrs Satwant Dogra emphasized the party's commitment to women's empowerment. "The present government is determined to provide women with adequate representation in decision-making processes. Empowering women is not only vital for the progress of families but also for society as a whole. Women will be encouraged by the National Conference to participate actively in every aspect of governance and community building," she said. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Chander Mohan Sharma District President Jammu, Raghubir Singh Manhas District President Jammu Rural-A, Ch Mohd Aslam, Amrish Sharma, Somnath, Anju Grover, Jatinder Choudhary Block President Suchtegarh, Dev Raj Block President R.S. Pura, Mohinder Lal Vice President Jammu Rural B, Jatinder Bhagat District President SC Cell, Ashwani Charak.
