Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 24: Mission Director of HADP/JKCIP, Shri Rahul Yadav, chaired a review meeting today to assess the progress of various components under the Himayat Agricultural Development Program (HADP). The meeting was held at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
Attended by key officials, including Directors of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, and representatives from the Sericulture Department, SKUAST Jammu, and SKUAST Kashmir, the meeting reviewed multiple critical areas. Officers from Kashmir participated virtually.
The meeting primarily focused on the review of action taken on decisions from the previous HADP review on January 10, 2025, fund utilization, and submission of training schedules for upcoming sessions. Progress on training courses under the Daksh Kisan Portal and farmer registration on the Kisan Sathi Portal were also discussed.
Shri Rahul Yadav stressed the importance of timely fund utilization and urged departments to accelerate the implementation of tasks under the Integrated Farming System (IFS) model. He also emphasized the need for better coordination across all sectors to ensure the successful execution of developmental works.
Among the key areas reviewed were:
• Low-Cost Polyhouse Structures: Progress under Project No. 01 for Seed and Seed Multiplication Chain.
• Niche Crop Development: Establishment of nurseries for crops like Pecanut, Saffron, and Kalazeera.
• Millet Mills: Establishment of millet mills under the Promotion of Nutri Cereals (Millets) project.
• Non-Responsive Applications: Information on inactive applications on the Kisan Sathi Portal.
Yadav also called for workshops to be organized for farmers, particularly focusing on organic farming practices, where progressive farmers will share their experiences and knowledge.
The meeting concluded with an optimistic report that most of the allocated funds had already been utilized, and the remaining targets are on track to be completed within the stipulated timelines.
