Jammu, Jan 31: Calling Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as “captain,” Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Friday advised Omar Abdullah led government to stop complaining about dual power centers in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that everyone was already aware that the captain (the LG) holds a position in the Union Territory. "The election (assembly polls held last year) was for the vice-captainship (Chief Ministership). Therefore, no one should complain about the existence of dual power centers; rather, the government should collaborate with the captain to serve the people,” Bukhari said in a statement.

Pertinently, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other National Conference leaders have been demanding that the Centre should restore J&K’s statehood so that the “dual control” could end.
A politician while talking to Early Times said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kashmir to inaugurate Sonamarg tunnel last month, he made it clear that “right things will happen at the right time.”
He said that the National Conference leaders have understood that restoration of J&K’s statehood is Centre’s prerogative and till then “the Lieutenant Governor will continue to remain the captain.”
