MCM organises sensitisation programme on drugs

CHANDIGARH, Feb 3: The Victory Against Drug Abuse (VADA) Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organized a sensitisation programme focused on drug awareness, under the aegis of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The initiative aimed to educate students about the severe consequences of drug abuse and to empower them to become ambassadors of change in their communities.
Inspector Baldev Kumar, Station House Officer of the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF), Sector 11, Chandigarh, delivered a powerful talk during the event. Drawing from both personal and professional experiences, Inspector Kumar shared the challenges he faced during his youth and his journey towards success. He emphasized the importance of fitness and education as key pillars for a successful life and urged the youth to stay away from drugs, making informed choices that prioritize their physical and mental well-being.
Officiating Principal Ms. Suman Mahajan praised the VADA Club's commitment to raising awareness about drug abuse. She highlighted the significance of consistent efforts to educate the youth about leading drug-free lives and expressed hope that the programme would instill a sense of responsibility among students, reinforcing the message of staying vigilant against drug abuse.
