Five-day training programme on inclusive education inaugurated at SCERT Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 6: The State Council of Educational Research and Training, Jammu Division in a significant move towards the strengthening of inclusive education in JKUT proudly inaugurated a training programme on Inclusive Education for Heads of Institutions from ten districts of the Jammu Division at the premises of Govt. Model HSS, Domana under the mentorship of Worthy Director SCERT, Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas and the visionary leadership of Joint Director JKSCERT Jammu Division Prof. Dr. Sindhu Kapoor on 06.02.2025. The programme scheduled from 6th to 11th Feb, 2025 is aimed to promote inclusive Education and equip educational leaders with the knowledge, strategies and best practices necessary to foster an inclusive learning environment in schools.
The special training commenced with the grand Inaugural Ceremony that included the recital of National Anthem followed by the lighting of ceremonial lamp symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and invocation of Knowledge and wisdom by Joint Director SCERT, Jammu Division joined by Mr. Mohinder Kumar, Principal, HSS, Domana and the Special Guest on the occasion Dr. Rohnika Sharma, Director CRC, Jammu. The mesmerizing Saraswati Vandana was presented by the talented Students of HSS Domana.
At the onset, Dr. Neeraj Jandial convener of the Inclusive Education trainings, 2025 extended warm greetings to the distinguished guests and emphasised the crucial role of Inclusivity in the sphere of school Education in ensuring equal opportunities for all the learners, including children with disabilities, marginalized groups and those with diverse learning needs. The event featured a key note address by Dr. Rohini Sharma, coordinator of the programme to empower school leaders in implementing Inclusive practices in the schools effectively.
Prof. Dr Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT, Jammu Division while addressing the gathering shared valuable insights on the importance of Inclusive Education and the role of education in creating a supportive learning environment while adapting to the changing landscape of education in today's scenario. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude towards School Education Department, J&K UT, SPD SAMAGRA Shiksha J&K, Director SCERT J&K, Directorate of School Education Jammu along with the administration of Model HSS Domana for their wholehearted support to make this event worthwhile. She also esteemed guest on the occasion.
An engaging and effective presentations on first day of the program on Inclusive Education were delivered by Dr. Rohnika Sharma, Director CRC, Jammu and Mr. Raj Kumar Chadha, coordinator Inclusive Education Samagra Shiksha followed by enlightening session by expert in the field, Mrs. Neha Kalra, District Resource person Samagra Shiksha Jammu. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Ms Arti Gupta, Co- convener of the programme.
