3 days training programme for women sponsored by JKRLM concluded

SAMBA, Feb 6: Krishi Vigyan Kendra , Samba in collaboration with J&K Rural Livelihood Mission sucessfuly conducted 03 days training programme on preparation of Nutri-mix formula for lactating and pregnant women across the UT of J&K Sponsored by JKRLM, Govt of J&K U.T. w.e.f 04-06 February 2025 at KVK Hq Samba. The programme was conducted under the leadership of Professor B.N. Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu and the guidance of Dr. Amrish Vaid, Director Extension SKUAST Jammu. The Programme was inaugurated and coordinated by Dr. Sanjay Khajuria Head, KVK, Samba and attended by fourty five participants from nine Blocks of District Samba.
At KVK Samba, eight theoretical lectures and 08 practical classes were taken by the scientists & experts from Health Department as well as from ICDS Samba during the training in which trainees were provided with technological know how about preparation of different Nutri-Mix dishes and the importance of these Nutri-Mix dishes for health care and wellbeing of lactating and pregnant women. The experts lecture were delivered by Prof. Sanjay Khajuria, Prof. Neerja Sharma, Dr. Raghvi Mahajan, Sheetal CDPO Samba, Sushma Sambyal, ICDS Samba and Dr. Shalini Khajuria. The dishes prepared at Kendra include chickpea bars, chickpea barfi, ragi halwa, ragi chilla, low cost homemade cerealac, different types of vegetable salads etc, an affordable and nutrient-rich snack for lactating and pregnant women, preparation of various nutrient-dense food items such as vegetable premixes, pulse premixes, and edible seed mixes. Block Programme Manager JK NRLM, Samba/ Ghagwal expressed their gratitude to the Head KVK Samba for providing the training, and also assured the trainees that in future also such training will be held at the KVK Samba.
The programme was also assisted by Dr. AK Sinha, Dr. Saurav Gupta, Bharat Bhushan, Tajinder Singh and Pawandeep Singh
