Jammu, Feb 9: Demand for implementing the recommendation of the finding committee is likely to gain momentum within J&K Congress after the party’s disgraceful debacle in the Delhi Assembly elections.
The fact-finding panel has already submitted its report to the party leadership but the recommendations have been thrown into the dustbin to shield the culprits.
Sources said that it was all due to pressure and influence of the senior leaders, who have been singled out as culprits in the historic debacle of the party in the J&K Assembly elections, the party leadership could not muster the guts to implement the recommendation of the fact-finding committee.
“Not only Jammu and Kashmir, but the party has also badly lost Haryana, Maharashtra, and now Delhi. We will put pressure on the leadership to take action against senior leaders who have been singled out as real culprits in the historic defeat of the party in Assembly elections in J&K”, a senior Congress leader told The Early Times.

It is important to mention that Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, Tariq Hameed Karra, formed a Fact-Finding Committee on October 18, 2024, to analyze the reasons behind the party’s worst-ever defeat in the Assembly elections.
Facing an existential crisis, party workers are eager to understand the causes of this electoral debacle.
In the 2024 Assembly elections, Congress secured only six seats, with Rajouri being the lone victory from Jammu province.
Once a dominant political force in the region, the party is now grappling with internal strife. Grassroots leaders have accused senior JKPCC members of prioritizing personal and financial gains over the party’s interests. This ongoing infighting has further weakened efforts to rebuild and regain lost ground.
