Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 20: Demand for rescheduling the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) exams to be conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) united all political parties of Jammu and Kashmir.
Cutting across party lines, most of the mainstream parties demanded that JKAS exams should be rescheduled as the same clash with the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT).
On the one hand, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti raised this demand, the same was echoed by Akhil Bhartiya Vidharthi Parishad (ABVP).
Earlier, the Office of Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah had also posted on X, stating, “The scheduling conflict between JKAS Prelims and AFCAT is forcing our youth to make an unfair choice. This neglect by authorities hurts our commitment to students and aspirants. I urge authorities to act urgently and resolve their grievances.”
“Highly insensitive for the JKPSC Chairman to ask students to choose between taking either the AFCAT or JKAS exam. Unbelievable that the ruling party which rod

into power by promising rationalization of the unjust reservation policy is now refusing to even reschedule exams”, PDP leader Iltija Mufti posted on X.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned JKPSC’s decision to hold the JKAS exam on February 23, 2025, despite knowing it clashes with AFCAT. “Several students from Jammu and Kashmir have been preparing for both exams, and the commission’s refusal to reschedule the JKAS exam has left them in distress,” said ABVP Jammu Kashmir State Secretary Sannak Shrivats.
He further demanded that JKPSC reconsider its decision, stating:
“We strongly urge the authorities to prioritize the welfare of candidates and reschedule the JKAS Prelims to a later date so that students do not lose an attempt unfairly.”
ABVP reiterated its commitment to student rights, emphasizing that the matter requires immediate intervention. The organization urged the authorities to address the concerns at the earliest and ensure students do not miss out on either of these crucial opportunities.
