ROF, NDS & VKMI Host Cultural Program “Sunhere Pal, Bazurgo Ke Sang”

Jammu, Feb 23: The Retired Officers Forum (ROF), in collaboration with Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) and Vichar Kranti Manch International (VKMI), organized a cultural event, “Sunhere Pal, Bazurgo Ke Sang,” at the Home for Aged & Infirm, Ambphalla, Jammu. The event aimed to celebrate senior citizens, recognize their contributions, and spread awareness about their rights and well-being.
The program was held under the patronage of Chief Guest Sh. Vikram Randhawa, Hon’ble MLA Bahu, and presided over by Sh. I.D. Soni, President of ROF and a distinguished educationist honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Guests of Honor included Sh. Vijay Bhagotra, Honorary Secretary of the Old Age Home, and Sh. H.S. Manhas, Vice President of the Home for Aged & Infirm. Special guests included Sh. K.B. Jandial, IAS (Retd), and Sh. R.K. Rekhi, Chief Engineer (Retd).
A highlight of the event was a Kavi Sammelan, featuring seventeen poets from Nami Dogri Sanstha and other literary groups. They presented thought-provoking poetry on themes of aging, rights, and responsibilities, inspiring the 90 senior citizens present.
Additionally, Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, State Yoga Commissioner & Vice President of ROF, conducted a yoga and pranayama session, educating attendees on health, immunity, and overall well-being. He emphasized maintaining a balanced diet, regular exercise, mental stimulation, and spiritual wellness as key factors for a healthy life.
Sh. S.C. Rekhi, General Secretary of ROF, highlighted the organization’s 24-year legacy of supporting senior citizens through health and social initiatives. He proposed the establishment of a dedicated health club for elderly citizens.
The event saw participation from several eminent personalities, including Sh. Prem Gupta (Retd. IGP), J.K. Gandotra, K.S. Samyal, B.R. Gupta, Shashank Chowdhery, H.S. Manhas, Harbhajan Singh, Pankaj Gupta, Ashok Gupta, C.M. Sharma, Abhinandan Jain, and Sansar Chand Gupta.
Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to all participating poets by the Chief Guest, who lauded the efforts of the Retired Officers Forum. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sh. Prem Gupta, Vice President of the Forum, marking the program as a grand success in promoting the welfare and engagement of senior citizens.
