Celebrating Science Day 2025 at GDC Bishnah

BISHNAH, Feb 28: Government Degree College (GDC) Bishnah celebrated Science Day 2025 with a series of engaging and thought-provoking activities aimed at promoting scientific awareness and curiosity among students and faculty. The event, which was organized with great enthusiasm, featured a documentary screening, an interactive session, and a lively question-and-answer segment that left the audience captivated.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Ratika Sharma, Head of the Department (HOD) of Physics, alongside Prof. Sonia Khajuria, Assistant Professor in Chemistry, Dr. Ashma Gupta, Assistant Professor in Zoology, and Dr. Kiran Koushal, HOD of Urdu. Their combined efforts ensured that the event was both educational and highly engaging.
The day began with the screening of an insightful documentary highlighting the significant contributions of science and technology to humanity's progress. This film served as an inspiration, encouraging students to explore the endless possibilities that science offers.
Following the documentary, an interactive session was conducted, where the audience had the opportunity to engage with the esteemed panel of faculty members. Questions were answered, and students were given the platform to discuss various scientific phenomena, theories, and breakthroughs. This session fostered a deeper understanding of science and encouraged a spirit of inquiry among the participants.
Dr. Ratika Sharma, HOD of Physics, expressed her excitement about the successful event, stating, "Science Day is an important occasion to celebrate the wonders of science and inspire the younger generation to pursue knowledge and innovation. It was heartening to see such an enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty."
Prof. Sonia Khajuria, Assistant Professor in Chemistry, also spoke about the importance of keeping students engaged with real-world scientific issues, while Dr. Ashma Gupta, Assistant Professor in Zoology, underscored the relevance of biological sciences in today's rapidly changing world.
Dr. Kiran Koushal, HOD of Urdu, was also present, acknowledging the integral role that scientific literacy plays in the development of a well-rounded society.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of excitement and curiosity about the world of science, leaving all attendees inspired and motivated to delve deeper into the realms of scientific exploration.
The entire program was conducted under the able guidance of Dr Shallu Samyal ,Principal GDC Bishnah.
