GGM Science College Jammu hosts awareness lecture

JAMMU, Feb 28: The Startup Committee and Institution Innovation Cell of GGM Science College, Jammu, in collaboration with GK Educational Trust, Jammu (an approved training partner of NSDC, India), organized an awareness lecture on various skill development and placement courses available under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The event, held under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, aimed to foster innovation and entrepreneurial skills among students.
More than 100 students from different semesters actively participated in the session, engaging in discussions about the opportunities available under the Skill India Mission. The NSDC, a key player in India's skill ecosystem, is committed to empowering youth through its diverse programs.
A five-member team from GK Educational Trust, comprising Mr. Aditya Jamwal, Mr. Raghav, Ms. Himanshi, Mr. Munish, and Mr. Gaurakh, delivered insightful presentations. Mr. Aditya Jamwal elaborated on various government schemes, including PMKVY 4.0, DAY-NULM, ESDM, Skill Development programs, Hunar Se Rozgar, PMKVY 3.0 & 2.0, PM Vishwakarma, and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. He encouraged students to register on the JOBX portal, a cutting-edge NSDC initiative that offers verified national and international job opportunities.
Dr. Balwinder Kaur, Convener of the Startup Committee, inaugurated the event by introducing NSDC and the Skill India Mission. She motivated students to explore entrepreneurship by considering uniqueness, feasibility, and competition when launching a startup.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta commended the efforts of the Startup Committee and the Institution Innovation Cell in organizing such impactful events. He encouraged the continuation of similar initiatives to enhance student career prospects.
