Sahitya Akademi, J&K Cultural Academy organize 'Sahitya Manch'

JAMMU, Feb 28: The Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Academy, Jammu, organized a Dogri literary event, "Sahitya Manch," celebrating the rich heritage of Dogri poetry. The event featured four renowned Dogri poets who captivated the audience with their literary brilliance. The program commenced with an address by Padmashree Mohan Singh, Dogri Convener of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, who praised the Akademi's efforts in promoting Indian languages and elaborated on various schemes supporting literary growth. He highlighted Dogri's significance as one of the recognized languages under the Sahitya Akademi.
Four distinguished poets-Shri Om Goswami, Shri Om Vidyarthi, Shri Mangal Das Dogra, and Shri T.R. Magotra- mesmerized the audience with their poetic recitations, reflecting the depth and richness of Dogri literature.
Despite inclement weather and continuous rainfall, the event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of eminent poets, writers, and literature enthusiasts from Duggar Pradesh, underscoring the strong literary culture of the region.
Concluding the program, Smt. Harbinder Kaur (JKAS), Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy, Jammu, appreciated the poets for their remarkable contributions and reaffirmed her commitment to further collaborations with Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Rita Khadeyal, Chief Editor (Dogri), Cultural Academy.
The successful execution of "Sahitya Manch" once again highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting Dogri literature, ensuring its continued legacy for future generations.
