KISHTWAR, Mar 13: Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Chairman of the Red Cross Society Rajesh Kumar Shavan today distributed Nutritional Food Supplement Kits among 20 Tuberculosis (TB) patients as part of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The stuff was provided by the District Red Cross Society.
The distribution of these nutritional kits, which consist of black gram, rice, soya, milk, eggs, mustard oil, and other items, aims to provide essential support to TB patients during their treatment, contributing to their overall recovery and well-being. This initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to eliminate TB from the nation.
It is pertinent to mention that the Health Department, through the Chairman Red Cross (DC), has purchased nutrition for the next 2 months for 24 TB patients. Additionally, this initiative will be carried out in phases for a total of 72 patients during the intensive phase.
Also present at the event were CMO/DTO Dr. Rajinder Kumar, who extended his support to the program and highlighted the importance of nutritional supplementation in TB management.
This event marks a significant step towards ensuring a healthier and TB-free Kishtwar, as the district continues to work towards the objectives of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
