DC Kishtwar reviews arrangements for Holi celebration

KISHTWAR, Mar 13: Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the Holi Festival celebrations.
The primary focus of the meeting was to ensure the seamless management of essential services, security, and public convenience during the festival.
The DC emphasized the regulation of prices and directed the concerned officers to monitor the rates of items related to Holi celebrations, particularly Holi colors, while also ensuring strict vigilance on the sale of banned synthetic colors.
To maintain hygiene and sanitation, the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council was instructed to ensure cleanliness in the town, especially around religious places.
Additionally, the authorities were asked to prioritize the repair of non-functioning lights and completion of ongoing work to ensure well-lit areas throughout the town.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kishtwar was tasked with keeping medical support readily available in case of any emergencies during the festivities.
The DC also reviewed utility services and instructed the Power Development Department (PDD) to ensure an uninterrupted power supply during the celebration.
The Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department was directed to ensure adequate water supply and proper chlorination of water tanks to avoid any health-related concerns.
For security and safety, the Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) was directed to address potential security concerns.
Additionally, the traffic authorities were instructed to implement effective traffic management during the event.
Religious representatives also raised their concerns, and the DC assured them of the administration’s full support in addressing the issues projected by them.
The meeting was attended by ADC Pawan Kotwal, ASP (Ops.) Kishtwar N. A. Khoja, ACR Idrees Lone, EO Municipality/Dy. Registrar Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, Tehsildar Nirbhay Sharma, CMO, AC Legal Metrology, along with representatives from traffic, various organizations, religious leaders and prominent citizens.
